Summary: The Performance of Stage and Song RY768 was an event held during the Festival of Stage and Song in RY768. By tradition, the Festival day had seen a sponsored performance take place on the Celestial Stage... historically, the Scarlet Empress would fund such a performance to allow the common folk a chance to attend. Since her disappearance in RY765, this practice had fallen out of favour, but in RY768 lady V'neef Mahara and lady Ledaal Venosa arranged to have the new work produced by young playwright Ledaal Shinjo presented at the theatre, albeit as a gala for members of the Scarlet Dynasty and Patrician Clans rather than open to the public. Additional sponsorship for the venture came from nestor Mnemon Hidea at Toji Temple, providing religious backing for a performance during the Festival, and lady V'neef Cejanis, who utilized the event to secure the market for her Wines in the coming Wood season and engage in last-minute political discussions on the pending Agricultural Subsidy Bill.

A number of Dynasts and patricians attended the performance. Senator V'neef Tapan was unable to attend, due to an 'emergency situation' arising in his properties outside the City. V'neef Pepaa was unable to attend due to a sudden instruction from Qishi that accounting reports needed to be submitted by the 2nd of Descending Earth.

The bill negotiations did not bear fruit, as few Senators were willing to entertain senator Tapan's pro-peasant proposals, particularly as he had failed to make a personal appearance.
