Toji Temple

Description: Toji Temple is a massive temple & monastery complex, the largest in the Scarlet Prefecture. It consists of a walled enclosure containing worship halls for each of the Immaculate Dragons, anointment chambers, clergy residences, schools and libraries (even a small Dynastic primary school, the Stepping Stone Madrassa, for those of the Scarlet Dynasty and Patrician Clans seeking to put their children on a path to the clergy at an early age, with almost all graduates proceeding on to the Cloister of Wisdom and Immaculate Order. RY766 marked the completion of an extensive upgrade project that transformed Toji's six-storey square pagoda into a much larger eight-storey octagonal pagoda.

The temple is very wealthy, due in part to their area of responsibility having a wealthier population paying tithes, but also sponsorship from House Mnemon and significant contributions from individual Dynasts. Rumours of corruption amongst the temple leadership abound... stories of luxuries and broken monastic vows, of blessings sold as market goods... but no attempts to prosecute or investigate deeply have been undertaken by the Order or the Realm.

Toji Temple serves as a base for Immaculate monks working as itinerants and maintaining the shrines and religious needs of populations within the Imperial City's Eastern districts.
