Invitations: Public

Theme and Activity: The Festival of Stage and Song is a religious festival organized to deliver due prayer to a number of gods of the arts, mostly serving within the Division of Serenity in the Bureau of Destiny. Chief amongst the deities praised during the festival is the Division's head Yaogin, god of Beautiful Dreams and the Theater.

Relations between gods of artistry and the Immaculates are often contentious: the purviews of such gods, by their nature, tend to open the dark paths of idolatry to mortals, and the beauty of art can evoke inappropriate veneration for such objects. Such gods have also been amongst the most visible indulging in the heretical society of Great Forks. Some say that the Prayer Calendar does not offer much prayer to the associated deities because of this. The Festival is the primary day where such prayer is delivered, allowing such prayers to be controlled more carefully by the monks of the Order, accompanied by proper education to the populace on the dangers of idolatry and iconic depictions. Alongside religious services, craftspeople set up stalls to market their wares and performers display their talents... the day is considered by some to be an auspicious time for new works, but the most favoured songs and dances remain religious in nature.
