Icy Constables of Enlightenment

he Icy Constables of Enlightenment are a small elite unit within the Splendid and Just Arbiters of Purpose in the Thousand Scales, tasked with bringing in those Lost Eggs who have managed to grow in power without detection, and containing them until they choose the Coin or the Razor. For this, they are provisioned with significant Magitech equipment to allow them to capture and restrain a resistant Exalt.

The Icy Constables have a great deal of overlap with the Imperial Force of the Black Helms, resulting in significant rivalry between the two forces. Most see this as intentional on the part of the Scarlet Empress, typical of how the Thousand Scales are riven with rivalries and competition over power, but some observers have suspected the Empress had an additional motive: while a tiny force in the scale of the Realm, only a fang of five members, the Icy Constables did not need to undergo the vetting and confirmation The Deliberative Senate imposed on the Dragon Tamers. If the Empress or her All-Seeing Eye had need of a unit to engage with Dragonblooded targets clandestinely, the Icy Constables would seem well positioned.

The headquarters of the Icy Constables is the Benevolent Cradle, a fortress-manse in Juche Prefecture on the border with Lord's Crossing Dominion. While records are sparse, this manse is thought to contain prisons where resistant Exalts might be kept until they can be rendered compliant.
