Peleps Veely is a well-bred Water-aspected Senator of the House Peleps Deliberative caucus, and wife of fellow Senator Peleps Gurian, with whom she has children including naval officer Peleps Barse and Senator Peleps Miral. Veely’s paternal grandparents are Peleps Kaizoku and Mnemon Kuvon.

Veely attended secondary school at the Spiral Academy, where she gained the name ‘Sharkteeth’ for her sharp wit and vicious bureaucratic attacks. Such skills served her well in a career in the Thousand Scales, where she advanced to a high post in the Imperial Treasury before her appointment to the Senate… an appointment some think might have been engineered by Bal Keraz to remove a threat to his own power, as some acrimony has been seen between the pair.

As a legislator, Veely’s talents are now turned to laws that will support & strengthen House Peleps and the Realm, treating these as synonymous. She has long opposed heavy cuts to the Thousand Scales, though she also voted against the compromise the Deliberative negotiated with Keraz to stave off the deepest cuts, accusing the deal of ‘protecting the interests of a few officials rather than serving the needs of the Realm’.
