Purveyor of Small Relief from Insidious Pests

A five foot tall, one foot thick pillar of metal inlaid with Red Jade, a Purveyor of Small Relief from Insidious Pests can be separated into five one foot sections for transport; each screws into the one above it, with the bottom affixing into a base inlaid with White Jade. The artifact requires a commitment of one essence to activate, and shuts down when that essence is withdrawn.

When activated, the pillar glows softly with a purplish light and emits a faint hum. It attracts every sort of insect that can see it; once they reach it, it flares up with flames; if they are tiny normal insects, the incineration eliminates them. While it can be used to lure giant insects, it does not do this very well. They roll their Willpower against the artifact's pool of 1; if they lose, they will feel compelled to approach and touch it, at which point it flares up, and they must make a Stamina + Resistance roll, taking two Lethal damage if they fail. This will probably only annoy them and allows them to make another Willpower roll against the pillar to break free. Once an insect has resisted the lure, it need not check again this scene.
