Description

The Wave-Blossomed Desire is a luxury yacht, designed for speedy costal sailing in the waters of the Inner Sea. Not a large ocean-going vessel, its hull is sleek, curving to make room for cabins and cargo, though without capacity for bulk goods. A single unstayed mast supports a large triangular sail, lateen-rigged supported by both upper and lower spars.

An opulent master’s cabin occupies much of the internal space, with silk sheets and walls decorated with artistic navigational charts. The circular bed of this chamber is massive, and the sole space for the vessel’s passengers to sleep… it is expected that the vessel can carry up to 4 passengers, and that all will share this bed for both taking rest and lovemaking. A small galley is attached for a personal cook to prepare meals, equipped with a Winterbreath Jar, meals served to passengers on the bed or at the thin desk along one wall of the bedchamber.

The vessel opens to the stern, past glass windows and door, into an open air salon shielded by a silk canopy when Sol Invictus burns too bright, cushioned couches provided for lounging. The stern beneath this area is carved in shape of lovers intertwined, their trailing feet providing steps so the ship’s master and passengers might slide easily into the water for an enjoyable swim. This theme of carvings continues along the railings along the sides of the deck, coming to a head in the elaborate figurehead, a dragon of lames being birthed from betwixt the legs of a sensual Wood-aspected woman. The ship’s deck is teak, its interior panels mahogany, carved with orgiastic scenes designed to be appreciated with sense of touch as well as the eyes.

The captain is quartered at the prow, along with the galley which prepares meals for the help, the rest of the crew sleeping on deck. Along the ship’s center, below the mast, are two holds: the upper, ventilated through a cover of intertwining steel rods, houses the slaves, kept chained in ordered rows bound both to floor and to each other. Below them, a second smaller hold houses cargo and supplies.

History

The Wave-Blossomed Desire was commissioned by Cynis Odassa and launched in RY718, with the express purpose of making the journey between the Imperial City and the Palace of Trees in Pangu (via Vatamu and the House of High Waves, allowing Odassa, her husband Cynis Tiburon, their children and allies within House Cynis to make the trip in speed and proper style. As a slaver household, the ship commissioned by Odassa for her family’s personal use also includes a cargo hold for transport of slaves, used frequently to move prized purchase from the slave auctions of Cynis Akabar to the heart of the Cynis court.
