Mnemon Kanai is a Senator of the House Mnemon Deliberative caucus and a House loyalist. Conservative and holding firm Immaculate faith, Kanai has been known to carry out numerous acts of charity amongst the common folk. However, these are carried out under auspices of the Immaculate Order, and she opposes proposals such as those of V'neef Tapan which would see the Great Houses or Thousand Scales involve themselves in bettering the lot of slaves or peasants as this 'is not their place'. Despite this, she has much popularity amongst the peasants of the Scarlet Prefecture, who often recognize her triple-stripe mon.

Kanai is known for long hours spent working the halls of the Deliberative and the cells of temples to garner support, but this has not kept her physique trim and some fellow senators joke she ought spend less time politicking over lunch and more time sparring in place of dinner.
