Mistral of Seven Hells is a Blue Jade Direlance, stretching five yards from tip of blade to end of shaft. Its extreme length makes the weapon quite distinct, as do the sputtering pits on its blade and the rings of Malfean Iron which twist in double helix down the shaft.

The Mistral is said to date from the early days of the Shogunate Era, though some muse it may be older. Legend states that a great smith forged the weapon to strike down the Anathema, and that it was crafted to strike as swiftly as the wind and to slay as sharply as the chill of the Pole of Air.

The greatest battle attributed to the Mistral was in the hands of an Exalted champion who faced seven of the most potent Demons to ever be loosed upon Creation. In this struggle, though it struck each down with a killing blow before they could taint the land on which they stood, the smooth sharp head of the Mistral was burnt and gutted by the cocktail of Vitriolic ichors spraying where it had pierced each foe. Though the purity of its icy essence meant that the artifact survived, its head remained marred, the Yozi venoms attempting to spread out from it eternally though its essence froze and cleansed them even as they leached forth, further spread fettered by binding the shaft with a weapon sympathetic to the taint.

Since the Great Contagion and the rise of the Scarlet Empress, the Mistral has served first House Kurosa and then House Tepet, fighting in numerous battles including including the campaign against Lookshy in RY88 and the war against the Anathema Jochim in the Campaign against the Mountain. It is currently wielded by Tepet Hanzo.
