Incorruptible Observers of Geomantic Harmony

The Incorruptible Observers of Geomantic Harmony are a division of the Thousand Scales, charged with regulating the geomancy of the Blessed Isle to ensure it remains harmonized and not disruptive to the local dragon lines. The Observers issue review all construction in the Realm, not merely that involving manses, ensuring every road and every house fit into the web of essence flows without negatively influencing the existing patterns.

The Observers cannot of course be everywhere at once, and in addition to stamping approvals and issuing permits they also sent out teams of inspectors, both at random and in response to complaints. Inspectors had the power to order structures razed to the ground and cleared, the expense charged to the controller, along with the bill for the inspection itself.

Recent budget cutbacks have seen the ministry much reduced... all of its inspectors were laid off, and many of its permit processors as well, reducing the care taken before approving each new project.
