"I'm not one to boast, I prefer to let my accomplishments stand for themselves, but it really was an exhilarating time. Lets see, what was the name of that mercenary band? The Second Suns... The Second Edition? No, not quite that terrible... Ah! Yes, it was the Golden Company, so named after the blazing sun and sand dunes of their homeland as I recall. With a name like that you can see how they might have decided to make the trek north to seek employment with the Azerbani Anathema, but were unable to cross our battle lines to make contact with the enemy, and fell in with the bear god instead. We learned much of this after the fact you understand, were able to question a couple of the mercenaries before they died of their wounds. Not their captain of course, I had channeled some of my essence into my lance, gracing it with the power of Sextes Jylis, which cause my anima to flare. Gahar'ai is a noble beast, an immediately recognized me as a being of superior spiritual enlightenment. Our eyes met for a moment, and even now if find it hard to put to words the understanding that passed between us, for it was more primal than words. Then he bucked his former master from his back and proceeded to eat his face off!
-aha, heh, good times. At any rate, you can see why the General was so eager for volunteers to assist Peleps Deled, in addition to doing his religious duty it was a chance to remove a hostile force operating behind our lines.
In the end fighting the bear god himself was not so much different from hunting a bear, if you've ever had the experience. With Peleps Deled leading myself and Zhoutai, and Gahar'ai now hounding the fallen deity like a massive hunting dog, we forced him back to his cave-sanctuary. Now he was no less dangerous cornered, but as both Peleps Deled and myself wield lances, although Deleps Deleps does so with more grace than I, we were able to keep the god at bay. I managed to distract and even wound the god, but in the end it was Peleps Deled who landed the killing blow, and rightly so. I am simply honored and humbled to have played a part in that hunt.
I must say I took Peleps Deled's departure after that somewhat hard, as I had hoped someone of his skill and caliber would stay to assist the 4th against the Anathema Voivode, but Peleps Deled is unceasing in leading the Wyld Hunt against the Realm and Creations enemies, and after having lead some of us he was confident in the 4th's abilities to end the Anathema threat in Madura."
