Gossamer Stockade

The Gossamer Stockade is a human realm ruled by the Fair Folk, located amongst the coniferous forests of the Northeast. It is bordered by Lake Kol to the South across the River of Black Branches, by the Shandir Woods to the north across the River of Golden Branches, and by Halta to the west across the Golden Leaf Canal. To the east can be found the Goldwood and the Forest People tribes.

The Stockade was formed when a pair of Fae nobles arrived amongst the human tribes on the edge of Halta. They did not establish a court and violently prey upon the humans, but instead installed themselves as monarchs of a kingdom.... a strange thing, viewed as such even amongst the denizens of the Wyld.

The Stockade has poor relations with the Fair Folk residing under Halta, but is close to Halta itself, engaging in forest for agriculture which allows it to trade foodstuffs to the Haltans in exchange for luxuries and goods from elsewhere in Creation. The human citizenry live lives some would consider quite good... each is guaranteed shelter and a food ration, and the most dangerous and difficult tasks are carried out by Fae commoners beholden to the ruling nobles. This frees the population to spend more time than usual on personal pursuits such as art and performance, and they are known across the Northeast as entertainers and craftspeople.

In return for good treatment, residents pay a tax of dreams to their overlords, and visitors pay tariffs in the same manner.

The rulers of the country are the Fae nobles Obsidian Wave and Plestara. Gossamer Stockade respects the rules of the Treaty of High Order and Wild Roots, and does not launch raids against any of its neighbours, wether protected by that Treaty or not.
