Cynis Wisel Lyhisa is a Senator of the House Cynis caucus in the Deliberative and a sister of V'neef Chosul, husband of Princess V'neef. Senator Lyhisa's breeding is impeccable, though the politics between her brother and House Cynis strain her own family relationships and lessen her once-strong influence in House matchmaking.

On the floor of the Senate, Lyhisa is considered a House loyalist, though one who has also shown support for the causes of House V'neef when they do not run counter to those of House Cynis. Closely linked to this, she has ever been a firm voice in support of the Imperial Monopolies as inviolable even in the time of the Administrative Question.
