Seabirds are a subgrouping of birds, generally those who live and feed for most of their lives on the open seas. Because of this, they are most common in the West, though some have moved to the other Directions and even from living in salt to freshwater or terrestrial environments.

As with most classifications of fauna in Creation, status as a seabird has much less to do with biology than with politics, the label assigned to the purviews of gods given membership in the Transcendant Skiff of the Waveborne Wing, a subcommittee of bird gods within the Bureau of Nature known for close (and corrupt) relationships with Creation's Salt Gods.
