Category:Exalted Schools of the Realm

The Exalted Schools of the Realm, also known as the Great Academies or Great Secondary Schools, are a quartet of educational institutions viewed as the finest in Creation. Officially the four are named on an annual listing published by the Right and Responsible Office of Official Education which declares the top secondary schools in the Realm (but does not rank them against each other). Terming these schools as 'Exalted' schools has emerged in colloquial speech, though it is frowned upon by devout Immaculates, from a speech by the Scarlet Empress where she referred to the schools as 'standing above their rivals as an Exalt stands above mortals'.

Over the years, some arguments have been made by other secondary schools that the list should be expanded from four to five, to match the top rank listing of primary schools produced by the Right and Responsible Office, but the four Exalted Schools have resisted such reforms.
