Caress of Danaa'd

Caress of Danaa'd is a suit of Articulated Plate in black Jade, its surface carved with dragonscales and decorative elements at shoulders and joints fanning into the webbed wings of the Water Dragon. The chestplate is heavy but form-fitted, shoulders heavily plated, the shield arm gauntleted and the legs by boots up to the thigh. Midriff, swordarm, and upper leg are left unplated for maneuverability, instead protected by skirts of Jade Steel scale, though this is oft removed for display of flesh and finery on social occasions.

Though plate armour is oft considered burdensome to bear, the artifice of the Caress makes it far different, the armour conforming to the shape and movements of its wearer more than is typical for artifact armour. In addition to conferring no Fatigue penalty on its bearer, the Caress of Danaa'd also halves the usual Mobility penalty.

The Caress of Danaa'd has served the scions of House Peleps for generations, most famously girding strategoi Peleps Zuo in the battles of the Unbroken Rushes Rebellion. It is currently in possession of Peleps Auliame, an officer serving with the 4th Imperial Legion.
