17th Imperial Legion

The 17th Imperial Legion has long served as the vanguard of Realm campaigns in the Southern Threshold, operating out of the port of Arjuf in Arjuf Dominion.

When House Ledaal took control of the 17th, they moved to replace its strategoi, the outcaste Saloy Hin, with House-loyalist Ledaal Martia. Learning of this, Hin convinced the bulk of his Legion, along with elements of the 16th Imperial Legion and 18th Imperial Legion, to rebel against the Realm and flee into the Threshold.

The rebels seized the bulk of the three Legions' artifact equipment and stormed the docks at Arjuf, commandeering nearly the whole of House Ledaal's civil fleet and sailing across the Inner Sea, burning the ships once they disembarked on the other side and marching further southward into the desert, looming as a threat to Realm interests across the South.

House Ledaal sent the 16th and 18th Legions after Hin, but the rebel strategoi has so far managed to outmaneuver them, tying down two Legions to keep his one in check. A recent Realm victory at the Battle of Scorpion Ridge has buoyed hopes that the rebels may at last be slipping up, but they remain far from defeated.
