Bo-Du-Liang is the god of the Peace of Empty Spaces, serving in the Bureau of Heaven’s Department of Abstract Matters under the god of Central Peace Dalam-Rendal. Bo-Du-Liang is god of peace through empty spaces: rooms unadorned by icon or art or colour which might inflame passions, vistas whose vastness demand pause and contemplative thought before one can move on.

Where her superior Dalam-Rendal is closely tied to the Immaculate Order, Bo-Du-Liang’s affiliation has little to do with philosophical support for the Prayer Calendar. Instead, her agreements are very specific, tied to the Order’s dislike of adornement and iconic decoration. The sparsely-furnished chambers of the Crystal Palace and the Palace Sublime both owe something to her critiques, and she is known to look askance even at the use of geometric patterning in temples, considering the interweaving lines to hurry minds and lead them to aggression.
