Chamber of the Void

Chamber of the Void is god of textual scholarship, of correcting and arranging knowledge for presentation, and of the editors and annotators whose lot it is to do so. His power was at its height during the Golden Age, when such work was most common… as his purview encompasses only those making corrections or adding relevant knowledge, in the Time of Tumult many who take the title ‘editor’ in fact make their prayers to the gods of censorship and propagandists, who better reflect the work they do in these troubled times.

Chamber served as the Keeper of Indices within the Index of the Division of Secrets in the Bureau of Destiny. Even before the disruption of the Usurpation, Chamber had been considered a lax Keeper, and in its aftermath many whispered he took advantage of newly-opened opportunities for corruption… certainly he enjoyed the party circuit of Heaven far more, and far more frequently, than sitting at the editing desk in the Forbidding Manse of Ivy. These rumours culminated in what amounted to a coup, with Chamber’s superior Nara-O of the Hundred Veils and his subordinate Circling Rage forcing him from his post to await a pending investigation. Chamber did not put up a significant fight, instead choosing to flee from Yu Shan… few found much reason to press any charges, and his salary continues to accumulate uncollected.

After centuries travelling Creation attending noble courts and scholarly circles, Chamber at last settled in Great Forks, where he remains to this day. Some wonder if, in these tumultuous times, he might attempt a return to Heavenly politics, but for now he has offered no sign.
