Immaculate Brotherhood

The Immaculate Brotherhood is a schismatic sect of the Immaculate Faith, found amongst the Dragonblooded of Gens Raskali in the Southeastern Threshold. While the Raskali are generally considered to be secular but not opposed to the Immaculate Order, and some orthodox faithful are counted in their ranks, the Immaculate Brotherhood exists as a local claimant to religious authority in rivalry with the Palace Sublime.

In keeping with the intense focus of Raskali society on the Sworn Brotherhood as the key unit of Dragonblooded life, and drawing from a differing interpretation of the Gentle Rule within the Immaculate Texts, the Immaculate Brotherhood is a sworn brotherhood of enlightened, devoted Dragonblooded, each of whom takes title as Paragon of one of the Immaculate Dragons, and seeks to emulate that Dragon. While the Texts serve this Brotherhood and its supporters as guides, they are not as in Immaculate orthodoxy the primary source of wisdom: instead, in coming closest to the Immaculate Dragons, the words of the Brotherhood Paragons themselves are in communion with them and thus supersede the Texts.

The Immaculate Brotherhood, despite what the Order considers a heresy, is not as isolated from the Palace Sublime as one might think. The raw power of five Exalts who have devoted themselves to emulating the Immaculate Dragons, working together as sworn brothers, is immense, and they have fought alongside orthodox Immaculates as part of numerous Wyld Hunts, or in enforcing the Perfected Hierarchy (though here some have observed that they oft act to suppress rival spirits to those allied with Gens Raskali).
