Peleps Sasayaka is a male Fire-aspected Senator of the House Peleps Deliberative caucus. He is married to fellow Senator Peleps Shuseki, with whom he has children including Peleps Dumai and (adopted) Peleps Arden.

Sasayaka has long been considered the most relaxed within the oft-manic Peleps caucus, and within the Deliberative, rarely jumping into aggressive attacks or brawling during debate and keeping his speeches to uplifting generalities rather than targeted insults. However, beneath easy-going charisma certainly lies a fiery cunning, for though little proof has ever been secured most know that Sasakaya’s attacks take place outside the Senate, through his connections within the Realm’s bureaucracy and regulatory systems.

One of Sasayaka’s two most notable feuds is not with a member of the Senate but with Mnemon Bera, leader of the Imperial Library within the Thousand Scales. Sasayaka’s collected trove of legislative records, kept at his estate the Villa of the Papyri, is renowned, with other Senators often bartering favour and concession in order to consult it. Bera has long held that such a collection ought not be kept in private hands, that the Throne ought seize it and add it to the archives of the Library in the name of the public good. While the Scarlet Empress never took such a step, in her absence (and with the Imperial Library known to have added a mercenary contingent to its ranks of clerks) some wonder if Bera will become more pro-active in asserting her claim.
