Cathak Hasegawa is an elder Senator of the House Cathak Deliberative caucus, and mistress of the Dome of Willows villa in the Imperial City.

While most members of House Cathak appointed to the Senate seem to consider the post a punishment, the work carried out of no merit, Hasegawa has always taken her senatorial duties with seriousness and respect. Some refer to her as the 'Whip' of House Cathak's caucus for her endless efforts to ensure her fellows are in attendance for voting and debate, though this is done through politicking and cajoling rather than force as seen in the caucus of House Mnemon.

Hasegawa's hand can be seen in arranging the appointment of most Cathak Senators who show inclination towards legislative work, such as Cathak Curella, Cathak Macoya, and Cathak Rufyus, though more often than not the agendas of these politically-enthused Cathaks do not match Hasegawa's own. Indeed, in voting record Hasegawa remains close to the will of her House and its most respected elder, Cathak Cainan, her desire for change seeking only shifts not transformations.

Hasegawa has a reputation as a hostess, holding irregular salons at the Dome of Willows villa to bring together Senators and powerbrokers when legislation seems doomed to deadlock. It is said that one such salon brought together several Senators who would later go on to barter out the appointment of Tepet Fokuf in the Council of the Empty Throne.
