A motion tabled by Ledaal Yupitara in RY764, to confirm the dismissal of Ledaal Lethas from his post. The precedent had already been established that in the absence of the Scarlet Empress a Great House could appoint a member of its choice to fill a vacant spot in its Deliberative caucus, but the right to dismiss had been disputed, and debate over this motion brought that matter to the fore and demanded resolution.

The debate was long, but in the end a legal argument was presented which shifted the tide against. Senators Ragara Jintao and Tepet Budria made the argument that while the laws of the Realm clearly stated that the Imperial Regent would inherit the Empress' power to appoint Senators in consultation with the Great Houses, nowhere did it pass on any power to dismiss them: until an Empress sat on the Throne, only death could strip a Senator of their rank.

House Ledaal and House Mnemon stood firmly in support of the motion, House Tepet and House Ragara firmly against, with the motion failing to carry. The voting was notable for the fact it saw significant sections of both House Peleps and House V'neef caucuses voting on either side, with one observer commenting that the only thing that could make them vote together was voting against each other.
