Winter Blossom Prefecture

Winter Blossom Prefecture is a region of the northern Blessed Isle, bordered to the north by Chanos Prefecture and to the east by Mataiva Prefecture. Its capital, and location of the local Thousand Scales presence, is the town of Winter Blossom, named for the beautiful cherry blossoming that occurs there in the Air season each year.

The climate of Winter Blossom Prefecture is cool but temperate, its economy dominated by agriculture (predominantly apples and root vegetables) and pottery formed from the black local clay. This 'Black-ware' style pottery is known for its dark colours and rough surfaces, and spent some decades as a popular fad for tea sets within Dynastic circles. Though it has fallen from such high favour, it remains popular amongst the Isle's patricians.
