The coca bush is a plant of straight branches and thin, tapering leaves, native to the mountainous regions of the Southwestern Threshold.
Coca bush leaves are used as a drug, with mild properties particularly useful for peasants and labourers leading difficult lives: when chewed or taken as a tea the leaves act as a mild stimulant and suppresses hunger, thirst, pain, and fatigue. Unlike most drugs, it does not seem to be at all addictive.
Coca is a staple in the diets of many residents of An-Teng.
Coca leaves are the raw material used to create the far more potent drugs Cocaine and Rock Cocaine.
