Rock Cocaine

Rock cocaine is a drug derived from the leaves of the Coca Bush, processed in a manner similar to that producing Cocaine, but altered by Guild alchemists to lower costs and improve certain traits. The Guild currently retains the secrets of its production method, and is the only source of the drug, though they market it widely across Creation.

Rock cocaine must be smoked, and has effects identical to that of cocaine powder, but which strike the user far more intensely and for a briefer period, prompting further consumption immediately and creating a cycle of fifteen minutes in intense joy then an hour or two of crushing depression... cured only by smoking further rock cocaine. This makes it highly addictive and renders its users willing to do nearly anything for another fix. From the perspective of the Guild, they have created a near-perfect drug.

In some regions of Creation, particularly the Scavenger Lands, rock cocaine is known as 'Jingle Jangle', due to the sound its crystalized 'rocks' make in the glass vials within which the Guild typically distributes it.
