Mnemon Barad is a Senator of the House Mnemon Deliberative caucus. A staunch House loyalist, Barad serves as Whip within the caucus, a position named for its likeness to that of a slavedriver or herder, enforcing the will of princess Mnemon and support for the policies set by caucus Chair Mnemon Taira. Barad is a large man with an angry, reverberating voice and a willingness to embrace violence in debate, so there is little surprise at his being chosen to serve as Whip… during brawls, he has been known to target those Mnemon senators who do not follow the course set by princess Mnemon.
In terms of voting record, Barad opposes taxation of the Great Houses to fund the Thousand Scales, having supported the recent budget cuts and the transfer of the Imperial Legions to House control. However, these principles are not inflexible, with Barad having shown willingness to oppose spending cuts when such would harm the interests of his House.
