A Quilt of Slumber's Embrace consists of silken bedclothes of an artificial material similar to silk, filled with a substance that feels variably like down feathers or water, resulting in something akin to a duvet. Colour and decoration is invariably elaborate, some working together stylistic images of exotic creatures and landscapes but the most common being dark shades with various star patterns that seem to glimmer and twinkle, though they do not match any constellations known to the skies of Creation.  A sleeper seeking to use the device lies atop half of the expansive Quilt, and pulls the other half overtop.

A Quilt of Slumber's Embrace consists of silken bedding of an artificial material similar to silk, filled with a substance that feels variably like down feathers or water, resulting in something akin to a duvet.

The Quilts are minor works of artifice, dating from the Golden Age. They remain inert until the person who has attuned them begins to fall asleep within their embrace: once this occurs, they begin to soften and stiffen, warm and cool, tighten and loosen, as needed to ensure the user is as comfortable as possible. The Quilt offers no protection from supernatural disruption, or even mental issues such as nightmares, but its mundane comforts can still exert a calming effect on even troubled minds.

Attunement to a Quilt occurs when a would-be user lies atop the quilt and attempts to fall asleep. At this moment, they may spend a point of Willpower, creating an attunement to themselves that will last until they awaken. Beings capable of channelling Essence may instead spend a single mote for this sleep-time Attunement.

Though only minor artifacts, Quilts of Slumber's Embrace are far more luxury than practical Transperfect Domestic Tools such as the Winterbreath Jar, and seemingly of a more complex design whose mysteries have not been rediscovered in the present Age. Quilts also appear to have been a luxury item even during the Golden Age, those currently present in Creation recovered through the archeologists and tomb raiders of the Scavenger Economy (for whom they can fetch high prices from the nobles of the Dynasty and Threshold aristocracies), though a few also continue to clothe the beds of elder Sidereal Exalted in Yu-shan.
