The Prince of the Star of the Golden Door, more commonly known as Golden Door, is the god of concluding courtship, serving within the Division of Endings in the Bureau of Destiny.

Golden Door’s purview covers the ending of the metaphorical journey that is courtship, but while some amongst Creation’s populace have prayed to Golden Door to end betrothals to partners they detest, or to end their children’s romances with suitors deemed unfit, Golden Door cares not for such forced and premature endings. Courtship is not romance, with potential to last forever, but a specific path towards destined conclusions: perhaps marriage, perhaps lovemaking, perhaps two people finding that they cannot be together and parting ways, what form the end takes does not matter merely that there is conclusion. For this reason Golden Door loathes those who are capricious or inconstant, who delay and drag out their courtships without intent to see their fruition. While in previous eras the laws of Heaven meant this led to little more than glowering, the chaos since the Great Contagion has seen Golden Door take a far more active role in punishing those who taint his purview.

It is said that once, in times long past, Golden Door wed a mortal from Creation against the commandments of the Maiden of Endings. For this defiance, the Maiden cast him and his wife out of Creation, in different directions deep into the Wyld. Their trials and tribulations in returning to Creation so they might be together were presented in a First Age Serial known as The Prince of the Star of the Golden Door that was quite popular in the years leading up towards the Golden Age, some of its fascicles still surviving into the Age of Sorrows... much to the consternation of the censors of the Immaculate Order.
