Zanish

Zanish is the God of Celebration, serving in the Division of Serenity within the Bureau of Destiny. One of those gods who is never satisfied with just one form, Zanish has one of the most varied appearances in Heaven, often appearing as a native from any of the five Directions, and just as often as either sex (or even both); his/her dress is always finery matching the traditional celebrations of the Direction whose appearance he/she apes, the only constant that he/she is always divinely beautiful, with sweetest Wine for bodily fluids.

Zanish is rarely found at his/her office in the Division of Serenity, instead moving between his/her many shrines in Great Forks, liaising with officials of the Court of Seasons, or overseeing key celebratory occasions such as the galas of Golden-Eyed Jorst, as he/she takes his/her work very seriously, despite appearances. After all, someone has to see that the constant parade of parties, holidays and festivals in Creation are carried out smoothly, and doing so personally ensures the work is properly done!

A maneuver with which Zanish was particularly pleased, though it gained her/him few friends amongst the gods whose purviews are linked with death, has been spreading the concept of the funerary celebration to the people’s of Creation. A death should not be a time to mourn a loss but to celebrate a life well lived, with drink and song and carousing!

The cult of Zanish is commonly found amongst Creation’s weathy nobles and socialites, who will often pray before planning out their celebrations, making lavish offerings to the God of Celebration in return for his blessing upon their occasions.
