Yellow-breasted Chats are large songbirds (weighing up to 1.2oz), with unique plumage coloured olive above and white below with bright yellow throat and breast, and a white ring around the eye. The favour concealing hedges and underbrush, and are adept at hiding from sight, but their songs are usually quite audible, containing odd mixtures of hoots, cackles, clucks, and whistles. During their mating season in the month of Resplendent Fire, they abandon their usual shyness to sing from atop trees and other exposed positions in order to identify territory and attract mates.

Yellow-breasted Chats are native to the Blessed Isle, found across its length and breadth, though more common in the South and East than North and West.

The Yellow-breasted Chat is considered a seasonal symbol of Resplendent Fire in Dynastic Fashions.
