Virtuous Pen Technique

The Virtuous Pen Technique is said to be the last of the Three Perfected Styles of Calligraphy, a way of writing the characters of Old Realm set out by the Immaculate of Air Mela in the text The Immaculate Brush.

The Technique is said to blend the strict rigidity of Five Harmonious Angles Style with the flow of Whirlwind Brush Method, demanding exacting perfection for each character. The Technique is favoured for occult applications such as sorcerous texts.

Though in the present day the Immaculate Order and Scarlet Dynasty hold that the Technique was devised by Mela, in truth it was the work of the Solar Exalted during the First Age. The Order holds that examples of the Technique in the texts of the Anathema are in fact examples of the Duplicitous Form Execration.
