To Be Chosen - Debts to Fate and Future is a text attributed to the Forsaken Anathema known as Wings in Amber. The text contains numerous deceptions such as attributing the teachings of Mela and the great works of Pasiap to the Anathema, but the most notable of all is an extensive recount of the common lie among reborn Anathema, that they are who they were but Chosen for a special purpose by the Unconquered Sun Himself, rather than thieving souls who stole the power of the Most High and violated the Perfected Hierarchy for villainous ends.

That the text presents this argument with practical seriousness speaks to the danger of the Anathema and their lies, constructed with cunning to deceive and distract the mortal mind and introduce doubt even amongst the Exalted. And yet, the deception is clearly found in the nigh-universal match of this text with the claims of the Anathema themselves, those ancient beings having undeniably practiced and rehearsed their tales from this foul text.
