Tide of Cinnabar

Tide of Cinnabar was a massive godblooded whale, scarlet in colour, the favoured son of Volurapin Master of Whales and God of Northern Peace. The ‘red whale’ was known to swim the waters of the West in company of whales, singing in the dark depths and revealing his red skin through breaching dances at the surface.

Tide of Cinnabar was slain in RY761. His killer remains unknown, suspects ranging from ignorant whalers to his father’s political enemies... but some have noted that garments of red-coloured whale leather have appeared here and there amongst the island markets of the West in the years since his death.
