Ruby

Appearance: A bright red faceted gemstone.

Description: One of the ‘Five Tears of the Dragons’, sometimes known as the ‘Tears of Hsiesh’. Associated with the qualities of Fire, sexual passion, valour, memory, and sacrifice. While many rubies are marred by inclusions, the clearest and finest-coloured are called ‘Pigeon-blood Rubies’, drawn from veins around Gem and the Imperial Mountain (though the latter have been almost entirely mined out).
