Puresong Vireos were songbirds that once existed in Creation, created by the Primordials before they were overthrown for some unknown purpose. Their god was Clear Mind.

A Puresong Vireo was visually unremarkable, its plumage dull and greenish, but it was remarkable for its song, unique in all Creation. Some said that the birds had been gifted on their creation with a single note sung by the voices of the Primordials themselves, and from its lesser throat that note emerged as a song which could not be ignored.

The effect of Puresong Vireo music was intense and instant... any mortal who heard it found their minds cleared of all unnatural influences and controls, freed from all imposed bonds and servitudes.

Though small, Puresong Vireos were tenacious birds, often surviving being carried from their home range in the Northeastern forests to reach the River Province and even the Blessed Isle. During the First Age, the Solar Deliberative voted the birds a 'threat to public order', and a campaign was undertaken which exterminated them completely.
