Meldre is the god of Communication, Patroness of messages and the messengers who bear them, serving in the Bureau of Destiny.

At the height of the Golden Age, Meldre wielded great influence within the Division of Journeys due to the vast communication infrastructure and accessible communication of that time. While her purview encompassed both messages and messengers, Meldre overtly preferred the former to the latter, stable infrastructure over fallible mortals to ensure communication moved as widely and quickly as possible, an aim which made her a close ally of Agralzo the god of Discovery. The final years of the Golden Age saw the Creation-spanning projects of the Solar Exalted considered for repurposing by their creators, proposals actively opposed by Meldre, but she was far from a supporter of the Usurpation. The overthrow of the Solars and the subsequent Shogunate Era devastated the communication infrastructure which supported her purview, costing Meldre a great deal of her influence in the Division of Journeys, with allies finding themselves demoted (or worse) through the machinations of the Bronze Faction and its associated divinities.

In this Time of Tumult, Meldre longs to restore Creation (and her position) to its former glory, but has not forgotten the chaos the Solar Exalted wreaked on her delicate systems, remaining wary of their return (and, particularly, of the Gold Faction’s agenda in supporting them). Thus, Meldre accepts, if not supports, the Bronze Faction’s course and works to reacquaint the Dragonblooded with more reliable and common methods of communication that they can then spread throughout the Realm and the Threshold (advocating for robust systems such as the Realm’s Heliograph and Imperial Post). She also cultivates allies amongst the language and story gods in the Bureau of Humanity’s Board of Talk and Tale, to ensure that humans have reason to communicate, and can do so smoothly.

Meldre manifests as a giant six-legged raven whose large feathers make perfect writing quills (and, incidentally, weapons) and who is always surrounded by a buzzing horde of hummingbird-like spirits, the Missive Birds which are constantly coming and going bearing messages.
