Jakatam Shining-Hammer is god of Essence Forges and Factory Cathedrals, technically serving in the Board of Cog & Craft within the Bureau of Humanity’s Department of Universal Human Affairs. Before the Primordial War and into the First Age, Jakatam served as Satrap of the Board and a personal assistant to the Primordial Autochthon, but with the departure of the Great Maker he became increasingly withdrawn from Heavenly affairs, and in the wake of the Usurpation entered self-imposed exile to the far edges of Creation, where he has worked a forge ever since.

Once upon a time, the place of Jakatam’s exile was home to a great fortress-manse, above a fissure through which the fires of the nearby Elemental Pole flowed into his forge, and whose storerooms & mines offered up quantities of the Magical Materials. This manse was destroyed when the Fair Folk surged forth in the Balorian Crusade during the Great Contagion, leaving naught standing but the god himself, still working at his forge, birthing new artifacts and then breaking them down so he might forge them anew and ever closer to perfection.

He continues to do so to this day, avoiding all interruption he can. His isolated location and the combined hazards of the Pole, the Wyld, and the uncapped Demesne remaining from the manse’s destruction, mean visitors are few and far between. Those who do come are mostly gods, some seeking to draw him back to Yu Shan, others (particularly agents of the Bronze Faction) keeping watch that his actions are not part of some hidden scheme… Jakatam remains a powerful god, and one of few thought to understand the workings and means of accessing the Great Maker’s workshop in Heaven, the Primal Forge. None have breached that ancient structure in millennia, but with return of the Copper Spiders to Creation matters have changed drastically, and perhaps a Solar might seek Jakatam’s wisdom to access that long-dormant facility...
