Hooves of Thunder

The Hooves of Thunder are a rare type of horse, sometimes found leading herds of wild horses across the Marukan Plain or in the entourage of the horse god Hiparkes. That divinity favours these horses with good reason: the Hooves of Thunder are Hiparkes’ godblooded offspring.

While a fine rider or horse breeder might find their steed granted the Blessing of Hiparkes, the finest of Creation’s mares are sought for what the horse god considers his highest blessing. A mare who pushes the boundaries of what a horse can be upward in strength, speed, beauty, war prowess, and the like might catch Hiparkes’ eye, causing the horse god to take the shape of a great silver stallion with a mane of glistening jet. From his coupling with that mare shall come a single offspring, regardless of her breed, a Hoof of Thunder.

As their father, Hooves of Thunder have grey coats that glisten with a silver sheen, and flowing jet-black manes. They are as intelligent as an adult human, and as godblooded they can learn the charms of their divine parent (typically Brawl Excellencies and Essence Bite). They are quick but muscular, standing 18 hands tall. When they gallop, sparks flash where their hooves touch the ground, and the noise is thunderous.

The offspring of Hooves of Thunder, with each other or mundane horses, are born as Sparkhoof Horses.
