Hatra are a species of medium-sized gliding mammals native to the forests of the Eastern Threshold. Hatra possess patagium flaps between their forelimbs and back limbs, which enable them to glide through the air, moving between trees or swooping to attack prey below them.

Hatra dwell in colonies, typically groups of a dozen to two dozen creatures, though a few areas have larger colonies, including the coniferous forests of the Northeastern Threshold where hundred-strong colonies are far from unknown. They hunt and attack in packs, motivated by hunger or encroachment into the territory they claim as their own. Typically a hatra is no match for a human or Tree Pard, but in groups they are able to fell creatures as large as elk, Burrow Loks, or even bears. Most of their prey is smaller: the smaller northern varieties of Giant Arboreal Sloth as well as Emerald Monkeys and all manner of birds. Hatra are also able to consume pine needles when prey is scarce, though they are known to avoid this when there is fresh flesh to be had.
