Great Owl

Great Owls are large nocturnal predators dwelling in the deep forests of the East, preying primarily on hares, rodents, and other small mammals. They are dark mottled brown in coloration, with wingspans of up to 15 feet.
The tribes of the East consider Great Owls to be bad omens, a sign of death and disaster soon to come. This may relate to the very real threat presented to humans by the Great Owl’s larger cousin the Strix, or have some other forgotten origin.
