Gently Drifting Halcyon

Gently Drifting Halcyon is a weather god serving in the Celestial Bureaucracy. His form is that of a Halcyon bird the size of a man, with feathered arms in place of wings and two sets of colourful butterfly wings sprouting from his back.

Gently Drifting Halcyon is a wind god, but his purview is 'calm winds', the slow drifting movements of air too still to be noticed... a sort of wind which many of his peers consider to be no wind at all. Nevertheless, while becalmed sailors curse his name, the vast majority of Creation's mortal inhabitants are thankful for calm, warm days, giving Halcyon a steady influx of prayer with which to play the political games of Yu-Shan. Though he could organize even greater prayer and power through a widespread cult, Halcyon is outwardly a supporter of the Immaculate Order's Perfected Hierarchy... its regulations serve to blunt the efforts of his peers to oust him, and if a peasant (or a million peasants) pray thanks to him outside the Calendar of Prayer, entirely without his encouragement, simply for doing his required duty, how could anyone blame him for that?

In addition to his purview of calm winds, Halcyon also works as Kazei of the First Week of Descending Fire amongst the Court of the Season of Fire, under taisho Fading Fire, Prince of Falling Leaves.
