The Garter of Unyielding Certainty is an artifact of belts and bands connecting to a cylinder of white jade mounted below the small of the bearer's back. The design was born amidst the conflicts between the Celestial Exalted of the First Age, to gird Terrestrial officers leading the vanguard in face of the Age's potent Essence artillery such as Storm Hammers and Lightning Ballistae. When attuned at a cost of 2 motes, the Garter allows its wearer to ignore the Piercing tag on attacks against them, treating it as normal damage. In addition, attacks against them which have that tag, or grapple attacks, discard one success from their damage rolls.
