Flint-Claw Eagle

Flint-Claw Eagles are a breed of Godblooded raptors, with the blood of Earth Elementals in their veins, a result of the unusual promiscuity of the elementals dwelling on the slopes of the Omphalos. Though elementals have bred with all the varieties of raptors in the region, their offspring share many characteristics, and have long come together in numbers sufficient to breed true amongst themselves.

Flint-Claw Eagles are perhaps twice the size of their mundane kin, gripped with aggressive ferocity that makes domestication for falconry nigh impossible. They do not hesitate to attack those who try to climb towards their nests, located amongst the highest peaks, above the range of most mortal birds.

And yet, some do attempt ascent to reach the nests of Flint-Claws, for their stone-shelled eggs fetch high prices as serving bowls for the scions of the Scarlet Dynasty, particularly those of House Sesus. The Eagles themselves are also sought directly by Dynasts during their hunts, their power and size worthy of Exalted attention and (these hunters will say, oft very loudly while passing by the temples of the Immaculate Order) hunting these sins against the Perfected Hierarchy a holy duty. The claws of the Eagles, made from fine sharp flint, are considered ideal for Dynastic tinder-boxes, the House of Sesus again showing particular favour for such works.
