Fenta is a principality of the Northeastern Threshold, located between the upper reaches of the Blackwater River and the Golden Leaf Canal, north of Halta.

Access to the Canal ensures Fenta has means of reaching the rest of Creation, and though the land itself has little of note it engages in limited trade with Halta and nations further south. Iron and other metals are a major import, while the land exports lumber and several varieties of herbal liqueur.

The main source of renown for Fenta is the country’s stables. Fenta has good relations with the intelligent forest creatures found in the woodlands of the Northeast, following the Haltan pattern of treating them as equals, but the principality's place on the ground means that the land is home to creatures not seen even in Halta: ata-horses. These intelligent animals are of short, stocky build, with silver coats and green manes, tails, and hair around the hooves, growing long and shaggy. They are neither large not fast, but are surefooted and able to bear great loads. Ata-horses are often payed to stud by their fellow Fentan citizens, or operate their own stables where they can stud themselves, to produce san-horses of similar appearance if lesser intelligence. These horses are prized by the Fentans, Haltans, and some other forest dwellers, who enjoy the company of clever beasts with a forest look when they must journey out into the wider world.
