Division of Birth

The Division of Birth, formerly known as the Board of Childhood, is the department of the Bureau of Heaven responsible for matters of birth and associated concepts: conception, pregnancy, child-rearing, and childhood itself, though not matters such as coital pleasure or marriage arrangements. The Bureau of Humanity held the Division in times past, having taken it from the Bureau of Nature in the wake of the Primordial War, until the Bureau of Heaven argued that births in nature and amongst the gods meant it was a universal concept that belonged outside the specificity of Humanity’s aegis.

The move to the Bureau of Heaven was accompanied by a purge within the Division. The current Daimyo of Birth Ilithya-Lura had long been potent in the Board of Childhood, but not content with this she worked with the censors to audit or transfer several gods of childhood who opposed the move. In the present day, her domination is total, with the Division entirely staffed by her children... though her brood is hardly united in its agenda.
