Birth of Varang is a lengthy ballad that describes the one-hundred-and-twenty-five castes of the Varang City-States, using the allegory of a body with each caste a bone accomplishing a specific task, all coming together to create a functioning whole. It is a common and popular performance by those of the performing castes on the streets of the City-States, reminding all of the rightness of their caste system.

"And from the Maiden of Serenity came the twenty-five bones of the Mouth, and from the Maiden of Battles came the twenty-five bones of the Arms, and from the Maiden of Journeys came the twenty-five bones of the Legs, and from the Maiden of Secrets came the twenty-five bones of the Mind, and from the Maiden of Endings came the twenty-five bones of the Spine. And each bone had its place, and so became the Whole."
