The Barquestone of Journeys resembles a fist-sized drop of sparkling azure seawater, within which a golden ship can be seen, slowly rocking at full sail.

So long as the bearer is aboard an ocean vessel, that vessel will reach its destination: it can move unharmed at full sail through the fiercest gale, it can pass over rocky shoals with hull unscathed, it will never be caught upon a sandbar or becalmed for lack of wind or dashed against shore cliffs. Its pilot and navigator will never err in plotting their course, its quartermasters will never miscalculate required supplies, its crew will never grow restless even out of sight of land.

The Barquestone does not convey any magical increase in speed, nor does it have powers which shorten the trip: the bearer must make the journey, but so long as they are doing so they shall not face impediment.

Even those who seek to harm or halt the vessel are affected by its power: spirits (gods, ghosts, demons, and the like), may respect, fear or hate the character bearing this hearthstone according to their temperament, but always they will find themselves hesitant to interfere with the journey.
