Occupying the northern end of the Royal District in the City of the Steel Lotus is the Maze of Rivers, residence of the Imperial Satrap of An-Teng. Canals connect the estate to the River of Queens , and surround the low square edifice with a literal maze of waterways and bridges. The Maze appears a simple building next to the extravagance of the Palace of Threefold Magnificence just to the south, but its simplicity hides its true power, for it is both a manse and the home of the most powerful man in An-Teng, the satrap.
Astute geomancers might note that the hearthstone produced by the manse does not match the power of the place, and without visible essence vents the excess energies must be put to use elsewhere.
