An island in the Western Threshold, northeast of The Neck, Langon is somewhat isolated despite a good harbour in position close to major trade currents from Wu Jian and the fine quality of local craftsmanship. The source of those crafts is also the reason the harbour has never been developed into a trade port: the waters surrounding the island are home to abundant Helmed Crabs. The inhabitants of Langon are experts at taking the hard shells of the creatures and transforming them into large shallow cooking vessels for stir-frying, and into shields easily capable of deflecting steel, as well as numerous other objects, all polished with a distinctive local pattern that many outsiders find has great artistic merit.

Alas, the large numbers of helmed crabs in the surrounding waters mean ships attempting to approach run grave risks. Most trade is instead conducted by divers from Langon swimming out to ships anchored away from shore, limiting the amount of goods available for trading. Though this means no merchant holds will fill or empty at Langon, the resulting rarity adds even more value to the few crafts which leave the islend for markets elsewhere.
